Kathmandu, September 3 : The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has started free WiFi service in six religious and tourist places in the capital from September 2. Such places are Hanuman Dhoka, Pashupati Temple, Swyambhunath (Monkey Temple), Bouddha, Balaju park and Shankha park.
While inaugurating such service amidst a program, Biddhya Sundar Shakya, Mayor of KMC, said that his office had also a plan to extend the free wi-fi facility in other places in the capital in the future. According to him, the KMC is also engaged in homework to materialize the plan of building smart city in Kathmandu.
The KMC started the free WiFi service in financial and technical collaboration with WorldLink Communications Pvt Ltd. According to the company, any person can enjoy this service in any of the six places for 30 minutes a day. If the person moves from one access point to another (from one place to another) in the same day, he/she is again enabled to use the facility for the same amount of time.
