The Fiber to the Home (FTTH) service being provided by Nepal Telecom has started attracting customers.
More than 6,000 people have taken this service in the Kailali district in a short period. A customer can get three services at a time from a single wire of fiber to be linked in a house of the customer under this service.
The service is being expanded to Dhangadhi, Attariya, Bhajani, Tikapur and Lamki of Kailali district. The service is provided in the districts of Sudurpaschim province including Kailali is said to be a new service. Chief of Nepal Telecom Dhangadhi office, Surat Bahadur Malla, said that three services—high-speed internet service, as well as television channel and landline phone, could be received from a single wire of fiber.
A customer has to pay a minimum of Rs 15,980 annually to get all three services of FTTH till January 15. Malla shared that people have been attracted to this service in a short period, adding that this service is being expanded in all districts except Bajura, Darchula, and Bajhang of Sudurpaschim province.
Nepal Telecom has started providing FTTH service in the country for the past five years.
