Global tender solicited for Jagadulla hydropower project

A global tender has been solicited for the selection of contractors for the physical construction of Jagadulla Hydropower Project.     
The project is being implemented to serve the goal of ‘illuminating Karnali’.

Chief Executive Officer of the Jagadulla Hydropower Company, Sanjaya Sapkota informed that the company has solicited global tender for the main construction work as well as civil and mechanical works of the project.    


The company had published a notice on for global tender on June 2. As per the notice, those interested can apply for the tender by 1 August 2024.    
The company had called for global tender to expedite the project works after carrying out financial management. A bilateral loan agreement was signed on the presence of Minister for Energy, Water Resource and Irrigation, Shakti Bahadur Basnet.    


Various a banks and financial institutions under the leadership of Nabil Bank are investing for the project.    
As informed, Nabil Bank is investing Rs 4.4 billion for the hydropower project.    


Other investors include Hydroelectricity Investment and Development Company Limited, Citizen Investment Trust, Laxmi Sunrise and Everest Bank. 

   
“We have taken ahead crucial works on time. It has opened up avenues for completing the project in the stipulated time”, CEO Sapkota shared.    


The Jagadulla hydropower project located in Dolpa district has a total production capacity of 106 MW. The electricity generated from the project will be connected to Bafikot sub-station to be constructed by the Nepal Electricity Authority.
