In recent days, the prices of gold and silver have been steadily increasing in the local market, and both metals recorded further gains today.
According to the Nepal Gold and Silver Traders’ Association, the price of minted gold reached Rs 268,100 per tola, while silver traded at Rs 4,420 per tola. Both prices are the highest recorded so far.
Last Sunday, minted gold was priced at Rs 258,300 per tola and silver at Rs 4,105 per tola. On Monday, the prices rose significantly, with gold reaching Rs 261,700 per tola and silver at Rs 4,235 per tola.
On Tuesday, gold traded at Rs 267,200 per tola and silver at Rs 4,255 per tola, marking a sharp increase.
Analysts attribute the rise in gold and silver prices to the strengthening of the US dollar. International media report that today one ounce of gold is trading at 4,525 USD and the same amount of silver at 73 USD in the global market.
