The government collected Rs 5.24 billion in revenue from land transactions across the country during the period between mid-May and mid-June, according to the Department of Land Management and Records (DoLMR).
The revenue was generated through transactions processed by all 138 land administration offices nationwide. However, the amount was Rs 1.02 billion lower than the Rs 6.26 billion collected during the previous month.
Of the total revenue collected, Rs 286.63 million came from service taxes, while Rs 2.78 billion was generated through land registration fees. In addition, Rs 2.12 billion was collected as capital gains tax.
Among individual offices, the Land Administration Office Dillibazaar recorded the highest collection, generating approximately Rs 340 million in revenue. The Chabahil Land Administration Office followed with Rs 314.21 million, while the Tokha office collected Rs 109.92 million.
Revenue from land transactions has shown fluctuations in recent months. The government collected Rs 6.16 billion during the period between mid-March and mid-April, while collections stood at Rs 4.14 billion and Rs 5.99 billion, respectively, in the preceding two months.
The figures indicate that land-related transactions continue to be an important source of government revenue, although collections declined last month compared to the previous period.
