Minister for Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, Badri Prasad Pandey, has called on the European Union (EU) to lift the ban preventing Nepali airlines from operating in EU skies.
In a meeting held at the Ministry today with an EU delegation led by Ambassador Veronique Lorenzo, Minister Pandey emphasized the need for urgent support in removing the ban. He highlighted Nepal’s longstanding diplomatic ties with the EU, spanning over five decades, and underscored the importance of this partnership in fostering mutual growth.
Ambassador Lorenzo acknowledged the significant impact of the EU air safety ban on Nepal’s tourism industry and emphasized the importance of Nepal enhancing its technological capabilities in the aviation sector.
Additionally, Ambassador Lorenzo noted that France’s Airbus company is prepared to assist Nepal in advancing its civil aviation infrastructure.
