Ojha had faced a writ petition at the Supreme Court, while the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) also investigated him over the case.

Issuing a public notice on Saturday, the recommendation committee invited applications from eligible Nepali citizens for the position. According to the notice, interested candidates must submit a confidential letter to the Financial Sector Management and Institutions Coordination Division of the Ministry of Finance within seven working days.

The minimum qualification for the post requires at least a master’s degree in insurance, finance, banking, commerce, management, public administration, statistics, mathematics, economics, or law, along with more than five years of experience in a senior managerial position in the relevant sector.

The committee will shortlist three nominees, who must present their action plans and attend an interview. Based on their performance and evaluation scores, the Council of Ministers will appoint the top candidate to the position.

Earlier, the Cabinet formed a recommendation committee led by Prof. Shivraj Adhikari, Vice-Chairperson of the National Planning Commission. Finance Secretary Ghanshyam Upadhyay and expert member Khomraj Kharel are also part of the committee.
