Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel is set to present the annual revenue and expenditure estimates for Fiscal Year (FY) 2025/26 at a joint session of the Federal Parliament today at 3:00 PM.
According to Padma Prasad Pandey, Secretary of the Federal Parliament, the presentation will be held in the chamber of the House of Representatives in line with Article 119 of the Constitution of Nepal. The Parliamentary Secretariat has instructed members of both houses to be seated in the chamber ahead of the session.
Earlier in the day, at 1:30 PM, the House of Representatives will convene for a session where Speaker Devraj Ghimire will read a letter from the Prime Minister and Cabinet Office regarding additional responsibilities. During this session, Finance Minister Paudel will also present the Economic Survey for FY 2025/26.
At 1:45 PM, the National Assembly will hold a separate session, during which the Finance Minister will table the Economic Survey before the upper house.
Ahead of the budget announcement, Finance Minister Paudel briefed President Ram Chandra Paudel on the key features and priorities of the upcoming budget.
