China will provide 600 million yuan ( Rs 11 billion ) in grant aid to Nepal. The amount will be provided under the Economic and Technical Cooperation Agreement signed between Nepal and China on Saturday.
According to a Foreign Ministry official, China will provide Rs 11.5 billion grant aid for one year as part of the 56 billion grant assistance announced by Chinese President Xi Jinping during his visit to Nepal two and a half years ago.
In 2020, Nepal should have received assistance. At present, an agreement has been signed for the implementation of Rs 11.5 billion assistance under the same Rs 56 billion assistance.
The government plans to spend the money on education and health after consulting with China.
