Vehicular movement on the newly constructed Gwarko Overpass in Lalitpur is set to begin in the next four days, following the completion of the main structure and final operational preparations.
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli will officially inaugurate the flyover on June 20, after which it will be opened to traffic. The long-awaited infrastructure is expected to significantly reduce traffic congestion in the busy Gwarko area.
Last Saturday, Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Devendra Dahal, accompanied by officials from the Department of Roads, conducted an on-site inspection. Minister Dahal instructed officials to begin preparations to commence vehicular operations immediately.
Dip Barahi, head of the Department of Roads’ Quality Research and Development Center, confirmed that the flyover is now ready for use, with the installation of lane separators and road markings completed.
The project had experienced delays, prompting Minister Dahal to carry out frequent inspections and monitoring visits to push the work forward. The overpass is now on track to ease traffic flow and improve connectivity in Lalitpur.
