Himalaya Airlines has resumed regular direct flights between Kathmandu and Shanghai, reconnecting Nepal with one of China’s major commercial hubs.
According to the airline, regular flights from Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu to Shanghai Pudong International Airport began on Monday.
The airline is initially operating two flights per week on the route. Kathmandu–Shanghai flights will depart every Monday and Friday, while return flights from Shanghai to Kathmandu will operate every Tuesday and Saturday.
Himalaya Airlines said it plans to increase the frequency of flights in the coming days based on passenger demand and load factors.
The resumption of the direct service is expected to provide greater connectivity between Nepal and China, particularly for passengers travelling for tourism, business, education and other purposes.
