Kathmandu, February 3: Himalaya Airlines has suspended its flights to three cities of China in the wake of coronavirus epidemic that has leftover 300 dead and hundreds other infected in China. The infection was first detected in Wuhan in China.
Flights from Tribhuvan International Airport to Chinese cities, Shenzhen, Changsha, and Guiyang have been canceled in view of possible risks posed by the virus, said Bijaya Shrestha, vice-chairperson of the Airlines.
The airline’s company has a plan to suspend flights to Beijing and Chongqing from coming February 6. It, however, would continue the flight schedule to Beijing and Chongqing by a need and pressure of passengers, said Ujjwala Dali, chief of the service reform branch of the Airlines. The airline has been operating direct flights from TIA to Dhaka, Kuala Lumpur, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Dammam, and Doha.
