Kathmandu, November 3: Himalayan Capital Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Himalayan Bank, has formally commenced its operations. In an official program held on Friday (November 1), Manoj Bahadur Shrestha, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Himalayan Bank Limited, inaugurated the organization and formally announced the commencement of business operations.

Himalayan Capital Limited was established with a paid-up capital of Rs 200 million to provide merchant banking and investment banking services to its customers.

It will offer a variety of Merchant Banking Services namely Issue Management, Share Registrar, Securities Underwriting, Portfolio Management, Corporate Advisory and DEMAT/ DP Services. Speaking at the ceremony, Shrestha applauded the major transformative changes observed in the scope and depth of the Nepali Capital Markets and ensured that the spirit of the movement would be carried forward by the capital focusing on providing the highest quality service to its valued customers.

Sushiel Joshi, Chairman of the Board of Directors, Himalayan Capital Limited and General Manager, Himalayan Bank Limited elaborated on the capital’s commitment to provide state of the art merchant banking solutions to its customers and aid in the holistic development of capital markets and the Economy.

Further, with due approval from Regulatory authorities, the merchant bank also plans to manage various funds including “Himalayan Mutual Fund” for its parent company, Himalayan Bank Limited. Similarly, Parmeshwar Pant, Chief Executive Officer, Himalayan Capital Limited, reaffirmed the organization’s commitment towards ensuring customer satisfaction and positive contribution towards the Capital Markets.

The inauguration ceremony was presided over by the Board of Directors, Himalayan Bank Limited, Chief Executive Officer-Himalayan Bank Limited, Ashoke SJB Rana, Board of Directors-Himalayan Capital Limited, General Managers and Senior Executive Team-Himalayan Bank Limited, Officials from Himalayan Capital Limited, Representatives from Regulatory Authorities and various organizations and members of the press.
