Indian workers rescued and placed under quarantine

Butwal, April 2 : More than 150 Indian workers have been rescued and placed under quarantine here in the view of the COVID-19 pandemic. These people were working in various sectors in Nepal and had come here in connection with returning their homes in India after the government imposed a lockdown throughout the country to prevent the spreading of the coronavirus infection.

The Rupandehi District Administration rescued these Indian nationals and has made arrangements for keeping them in quarantine. They were rescued from Nepal-India border region. Now they are kept at the quarantine facility at the Nima-Pratima Technical School in Bhairahawa. Among them 14 are females and the rest male.

Their health was examined before keeping them in the quarantine. Arrangements have also been made for conducting their regular health checkup in the quarantine itself. Chief District Officer of Rupandehi, Mahadev Panta said they have been kept in a well-managed quarantine facility in the three-storied college building. He said the Nepal Army has been assigned for the security of the Indian workers. The Siddharthanagar Municipality is managing food for the labourers kept in quarantine.RSS
