A Rupandehi-based company exported French fries worth over Rs 5.4 million to the US through the Bhairahawa Customs Office on Tuesday.

According to a statement issued by the Bhairahawa Customs Office, First Choice Foods Pvt Ltd of Rupandehi exported 43,520 kilograms (two containers) of frozen French fries to the US.

The consignment, imported by ZENT Co. LLC DBA TCF Foods in the US, is valued at $38,480 (approximately Rs 5.49 million).

The customs office described this as a historic milestone, stating that the entry of Nepali food products into a highly competitive market like the US marks significant progress in industrial growth, foreign currency earnings, and entrepreneurship promotion. “The entry of Nepali French fries into the American market will open doors for the expansion of other Nepali products in the global market in the future,” the statement read.

On this occasion, the Bhairahawa Customs Office expressed its commitment to continuously improving export-related services, access to information, and procedural facilitation. It also pledged to strengthen collaboration with the private sector, producers, and other concerned stakeholders in the days ahead.
