Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Yogesh Bhattarai and Director-General of CAAN Rajan Pokharel among other high-placed government officials attended the morning rally that begun from Sinamangal.

At a programme organized in the terminal building of Tribhuvan International Airport, Minister Bhattarai said the government was effortful to make civil aviation safe by meeting the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) standard.

The Ministry was working to amend the laws to make the aviation service further effective and compatible. International Civil Aviation Day was announced in 1994 as part of ICAO’s 50th-anniversary activities.

In 1996, pursuant to an ICAO initiative and with the assistance of the Canadian Government, the United Nations General Assembly officially recognized 7 December as International Civil Aviation Day in the UN system. The day is being marked by organizing various programmes across the globe. RSS
