Kathmandu, August 10–Janata Bank Nepal Limited has launched an international remittance product in the country, Janata Remit. Through this newly launched product, the bank aims to provide remittance services to the Nepali people working in foreign countries. Till now, it has been offering such services only inside the territory of the country.
With the bank recently reaching agreement with Bexmoney Bahrain Express Exchange, those Nepalis working in Bahrain could directly remit their money to their relatives or deposit it in the bank’s account. ‘If they want to have monetary transactions through the bank, the customers have to open bank accounts and receive cheque books ATM cards by contacting any of the branch offices of Bexmoney.
‘We will hand over the amount remitted from Bahrain to the concerned people in Nepal not only through our 121 branch offices but also around 16 thousand remittance companies we operate throughout the country,’ reads a press statement issued by Janaka Bank. According to the statement, the bank is planning to launch Janata Remit targeting the migrant Nepali workers in other foreign countries like India, Malaysia, Japan, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman and UAE.
