Kathmandu, November 17 : Masamichi Saigo, Ambassador of Japan to Nepal and Hiromi Katsui, Country Representative, Shapla Neer Nepal signed an agreement amid a programme at Japanese Embassy in Kathmandu on November 16, in which Japanese Government will provide a financial assistance of over Rs 43 million to implement the Disaster Risk Reduction Strengthening Project in Chitwan.
The financial assistance will be provided through the Shapla Neer, a Japan based International NGO which will work with Nepali partner NGO, Rural Reconstruction Nepal to implement the Project.
The grant will be used to implement the Project in Madi Municipality in Chitwan district at risk of flooding and Lothar prone to landslide, according to the Japanese Embassy.
