May 14 : The Kathmandu Metropolitan City (KMC) has urged the Kathmandu Valley denizens to seriously abide by the lockdown order as the risk of the COVID-19 pandemic has increased in the Valley in the recent days.
Mayor of the KMC, Bidya Sundar Shakya, who is also the coordinator of the Valley Municipality Forum, said the pandemic might go out of control if people start refusing to act as per the lockdown order.
He urged the local, State and federal governments to be active and focus on implementing the lockdown in a more stringent manner to ward of such a situation. Shakya has made this appeal after three people tested positive to coronavirus in the Valley in just a single day on Tuesday (May 12).
“The COVID-19 pandemic will grow alarmingly if the movement to and from the Valley is not strictly and immediately controlled,” Mayor Shakya warnd adding,” The flow of people entering the Valley misusing the vehicle special passes must be stopped without much do”.
He thanked the Valley dwellers so far for cooperating fully by abiding the lockdown for long with patience and urged them to continue to be cooperative and patient for some more time. RSS
