Kathmandu, February 24: The Kathmandu Upatyaka Khanepani Limited (KUKL), a public company responsible for managing drinking water supply in the Kathmandu Valley, has launched a new mobile app that provides information on the water level.
KUKL Executive Director Milan Shakya said one can get information on the volume of water using the app from any location. According to him, once the quantity of water is known by means of the app, it can be distributed on the basis of that information.
He said this app would be more effective once the water from the Melamchi Water Supply Project is available in the Valley as this app could aid in managing the distribution of water.
The KUKL has been increasing the use of technology to systematize the water supply. It has also launched another app for collecting the complaints of service-recipients along with the commencement of this latest app on the occasion of its anniversary. KUKL states that it is in the process of using technology for taking timely information regarding the leakage in water supply pipes at various places. RSS
