Malaysian Home Minister Saifuddin Nasution Ismail is arriving today.
During the visit of Malaysian Home Minister, Nepal is going to prioritize the implementation of the labor agreement. A labor agreement was signed between Nepal and Malaysia on October 28, 2018. According to the Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Security, Nepal and Malaysia will discuss about the social security of workers, salary facilities, treatment arrangements and other issues along with the implementation of the agreement.
Similarly, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Labor Employment and Social Security Dunduraj Ghimire says that Nepal will take initiatives to ensure an environment where workers can go to Malaysia at zero cost.
Malaysian Minister Izmail is arriving to Nepal as a part of his visit to the labor supply country. Malaysia is taking 500,000 workers from India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka along with Nepal. According to Meghnath Bhurtel, Secretary General of Nepal Foreign Employment Association, foreign employment professionals have demanded to shorten the process and change the service fee stating that the process of sending workers from Nepal is lengthy.
The Home Minister of Malaysia is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal and Labor, Employment and Social Security Minister Dor Prasad Aryal.
