The water of Melamchi will be diverted to the tunnel from Tuesday. The Melamchi Drinking Water Development Committee has stated that it is preparing to send drinking water to the tunnel from Tuesday.
Senior Division Engineer of the committee Padma Bahadur Kunwar informed that they are ready to send water to the tunnel as the work of cleaning the tunnel and headbox has been completed.

Minister for Drinking Water Umakanta Chaudhary will inaugurate the diversion of water tunnels in Ambathan on Tuesday, said Executive Director of Melamchi Drinking Water Development Committee, Basudev Poudel.
The project was damaged by the floods on June 15. The government had announced to bring water to Kathmandu by mid-April. According to Engineer Kunwar, it will take another two weeks for the water to reach Kathmandu.
The water of the project started flowing in the capital on March 30 last year. In the second phase in April, 170 million liters of water were distributed in the capital.
The Melamchi Project Development Committee had shut off the water in the tunnel on June 22 for testing. The next day, the Melamchi River flooded.
