Kathmandu, September 13 : Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Yogesh Kumar Bhattarai has reiterated that the construction works of the Pokhara Regional International Airport (PRIA) would be completed within the stipulated time. He said so in the course of the on-site observation of such works on Saturday (September 12).
According to him, the construction of this national pride projects is going on regularly despite the coronavirus crisis and the government plans to bring it into operation by 2021.
Minister Bhattarai also shared that the preparations are being made to resume the domestic and international flights, which have remained suspended for nearly six months due to the coronavirus pandemic.
On the occasion, Chief of PRIA Construction Project, Binesh Munakarm,i said 64 per cent of the construction of the airport has been completed so far.
Munakarmi said that the constructions of 14 buildings along with parking, runway and approach way are now in the final stage. He said 180 Chinese and 90 Nepalis are continuously working in the construction of the airport at present.
