Monsoon enters central region; possibility of rain in most places

Kathmandu, June 22: Monsoon that started from the eastern region of the country on Thursday has reached the central region today, the Meteorological Forecasting Division stated. The monsoon is gradually expanding to the western parts bringing rain in its way. With this, the occurrence of rainfall will increase progressively.

“The monsoon will reach the western region in one or two days,” meteorologist Shanti Kandel said. Generally, the cloudy condition will prevail in many places of the country with chances of moderate rain along with thunder in many places of the eastern region today, the Division said. The weather will become partly to generally cloudy throughout the country tonight with the possibility of rain in most places.

Partly to the generally cloudy condition will prevail across the country with chances of rain accompanied by thunder in the Tarai and western part towards the morning tomorrow (Sunday). Similarly, there is the possibility of precipitation along with thunder in the rest of the parts of the country except some regions of the central part towards the afternoon. According to the Division, the weather will be generally to completely cloudy in the eastern and central parts of the country on Monday with the possibility of rain in some places of the eastern region.

The partly cloudy condition will prevail in the western part of the country. As per the latest weather update provided by the Division, the minimum temperature in Kathmandu Valley was 20.0 degrees Celsius and the maximum temperature 30 degrees Celsius today. Dhangadhi recorded the highest temperature at 40.0 degrees Celsius today. RSS
