Surkhet, March 1: As many as 2,625 people in the Karnali State have received permits from the Labour and Employment Office here to go to foreign countries for employment for the second time or more.
Most of these people were looking to fly to Saudi Arab, Qatar, Malaysia, and UAE for the second time or so for the employment
“Because of the establishment of the office a year back, those youths in Karnali planning for jobs in foreign countries do not need to visit Kathmandu for work permits, says Shyam Krishna Acharya, Information officer, Labour, and Employment Office.
Meanwhile, very few companies have been registered as the employment providing companies under the contribution-based social security fund in Karnali State. Only 121 companies got registered under the scheme despite the passage of two years since its launch.
Similarly, the number of works registered under the contribution-based social security fund stands at just 172 in the State. The contribution-based social security scheme was introduced two years back, as per which the workers are entitled to enjoy the pension or gratuity and medical expense.
