Kathmandu, April 5: Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) has announced to operate more domestic flights with an aim to make the Visit Nepal Year (VNY) 2020 campaign a success.
According to the national flag carrier, it will add more domestic flights in new destinations so that the prime objective of the campaign to bring in 2 million tourists in the country will be achieved.
Executive Director of NAC, Madan Kharel, is said to have directed the executive committee of NAC to expedite the preparations to conduct more domestic flights.
In addition to international tourism, the NAC is also focusing on domestic tourism by conducting test flights in different destinations across the country, it is said.
NAC has reportedly operated test flights in Chaurjahari airport in Rukum and Taplejung airport on Saturday i.e April 3.
Similarly, test flights to Rukumkot airport were conducted on Sunday i.e April 4 while test flight to Bhojpur airport will be conducted on Monday. Likewise, test flights to Bajura and Tumlingtar will be conducted on Tuesday i.e April 6 and Wednesday i.e April 7 respectively. The test flights are being conducted through Y12E aircraft.
Currently, the national flag carrier is operating domestic flight services to 25 districts across the country.
