Banke, August 6–The largest industrial area of Province No. 5 is being built in Naubasta of Banke district. For this, the necessary works are going on as per the master plan of the project.
So far, a detailed project report (DPR) of the proposed zone has been prepared and the land acquisition process is also already begun. It is estimated that some 4,498 ropanis of land will require for the industrial area. The Industrial Area Management Office based in Nepalgunj is carrying out the required task of environmental assessment for its construction.
“After the completion of such assessment, the process of building the necessary infrastructure including roads, drinking water supply, electricity poles will start,” says Krishna Bahadur Pun, chief, Nepalgunj Industrial Area Management Office. According to him, the office has so far received letters of intent from around 100 industries looking to operate in the industrial area.
Tara Khtari Rokaya, deputy general secretary, Nepalgunj Chamber of Commerce and Industry, informs,” For the purpose of housing the industries, 9 to 30 ropanis of land in the industrial area have been allotted for sheltering the industries.” According to him, the area demands the investment ranging from Rs 6 to 10 billion.
The Province-5 government has already allocated Rs 50 million in its budget of this year for constructing the industrial area.
The area is being built as per the central government’s plan to build one industrial estate in each of the seven provinces.
