Kathmandu, February 5: The major opposition Nepali Congress has registered a proposal of public importance relating to the employment sector at the House of Representatives meeting on Tuesday (Feb 4).
The NC, in the proposal, urged the government to come up with a long -term [lan for creating jobs inside the country so that many Nepali youths do not have to opt for foreign employment.
The proposal is registered by lawmaker Dr. Dila Sangraula and backed by lawmaker duo Sanjay Kumar Gautam and Rangamati Shahi, according to the NC parliamentary party secretariat. The NC demanded that the government take effective measures to assist those Nepali workers facing difficulties in foreign lands by holding a discussion with multi-stakeholders.
“In case of any such worker falling sick abroad, he/she shall be provided with proper medical treatment. Similarly, it is mandatory to offer financial assistance to his/her dependent family members,” says the NC.
Similarly, the party demanded that the government implement the labor agreement made with Malaysia in order to enable the Nepali workers to go and work in this country.
