Through effective coordination on the issues of budget and monetary policy, cooperation between two representative organizations of the private sector is about to take place for economic stability and development, the NCC said in a statement on Wednesday.

At a programme organised by the NCC to welcome and congratulate the newly elected working committee of the CNI led by Rajesh Kumar Agrawal, the two private sector organisations expressed their desire to forge cooperation on the economic agenda and move forward.

While congratulating the officials of the Confederation, NCC President, Rajendra Malla, emphasised that the private sector organisations should cooperate to provide economic stability to the nation through the effective coordination of the next year’s budget and monetary policy. “We need to cooperate to boost the country’s economy and meet the demands of the private sector,” he said.

Malla said that the high interest rate on bank loan has disturbed the investment environment and the morale of the private sector as a whole has eroded of late.

According to him, the private sector need to act united to nudge the concerned government agencies to create a better investment environment in the country.

The CNI and NCC are also submitting joint suggestions to the Nepal Rastra Bank for the upcoming monetary policy of the Fiscal Year 2023/23 on Thursday.

An understanding has also been reached between the two organsations regarding continuous cooperation in the coming year for the improvement of the financial sector by controlling interest rates, read the statement.

CNI President, Agrawal, said that there should be cooperation between the private sector organisations for the effective implementation of the monetary policy.

Stating that economic development and prosperity are the desires of the private sector, Agrawal said that an environment for regular discussions with the government should be created to meet their demands.

Meanwhile, an understanding has also been made between CNI and NCC to cooperate in the campaign to discourage business on credit.
