The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has issued a stern reminder to industries using electricity from dedicated feeder and trunk lines, urging them to clear their outstanding dues by November 27, 2024. The NEA has warned that failure to meet the deadline will result in penalties as per established regulations.
In an urgent notice released on Thursday, the NEA, alongside the Council of Ministers and the NEA Board of Directors, emphasized the need for industries to settle their arrears within the next 15 days. The notice stressed that if payments are not made within the specified timeframe, legal action will be taken.
As part of ongoing efforts to collect arrears, 12 industries have already started paying their dues in installments. The NEA has advised these industries to submit their payments as per the billed amount to the concerned distribution center by the end of November.
