The Consulate General of Nepal in Kolkata organized an interaction programme on Wednesday focusing on Nepal’s trade, transit and investment facilitation.
According to the Consulate General, the event provided a platform for discussions on strengthening Nepal-India cooperation in trade, transit, logistics, connectivity and investment.
Speaking at the programme, Consul General Jhakka Prasad Acharya reaffirmed the Consulate’s commitment to working closely with stakeholders to enhance trade facilitation, connectivity and economic cooperation between Nepal and India.
A thematic presentation titled “Nepal’s Trade, Transit and Investment” was delivered by Deepesh Lekhak. The presentation highlighted Nepal’s trade and transit framework, investment opportunities and ongoing initiatives aimed at boosting Nepal-India economic cooperation.
The interaction session also allowed participants to exchange views and offer suggestions on trade facilitation, customs coordination, logistics management, connectivity and investment promotion.
Among those attending the event were Rajendra Raman, senior officials from Kolkata Customs, representatives of the Kolkata Customs House Agents Association, the Nepal Customs House Agents Association and other stakeholders, according to the Consulate General of Nepal in Kolkata.
