Kathmandu, August 10 : The Department of Immigration has closed all services except the emergency ones after one of its employees tested positive for COVID-19 (coronavirus). Department’s Director Ram Chandra Tiwari said PCR test was conducted on 57 employees at the Department and of them, PCR test report of 56 was negative while one was positive.
The Department has suspended the visa service for some days. The employee testing coronavirus-positive has been sent into isolation and the employees who worked with him have also been kept into home isolation. Although the Department’s central office has been closed, its unit at Tribhuvan International Airport will be functioning regularly.
Department of Immigration, TIA chief immigration officer Gaulochan Sainju said the immigration service at the airport was operating on regular basis. RSS
