India remained the top source of visitors, contributing 25,933 tourists, followed by the United States (10,053), China (9,037), and the United Kingdom (6,838). While total arrivals increased significantly, NTB noted that growth from India and China was relatively minimal.

This year’s April arrivals surpassed the pre-COVID benchmark of April 2019, when Nepal welcomed 109,399 foreign tourists. The upward trend is also visible when compared to April 2024 (111,376 visitors) and April 2023 (98,773 visitors).

“We have officially surpassed 106.5 percent of the pre-pandemic level, which reflects a strong recovery and growing global interest in Nepal,” said the NTB.

NTB CEO Deepak Raj Joshi called the figures “encouraging” and noted that the continued increase underscores Nepal’s enduring global appeal and thriving tourism culture.

From January to April 2025, Nepal welcomed a total of 415,048 foreign tourists. Monthly arrival figures were 79,991 in January, 96,880 in February, and 121,800 in March.
