Kathmandu, September 1 : The country has racked up 899 new COVID-19 cases on Monday (August 31), thus taking the total tally to 39,460. Among the newly infected patients, 298 were from the Kathmandu Valley, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.
So far, a total of 11,129 PCR tests, including 11,129 yesterday, have been carried out. Similarly, seven more people including four men lost their lives from the COVID-19 yesterday. With this, the death toll from the virus reached 228 in Nepal.
The Ministry says that 588 patients got recovered from the disease across the country on Monday, thus taking the total number of recoveries to 21,410.
Currently, there are 12 districts which each has reported more than 500 COVID-19 cases. They are Morang, Sunsari, Parsa, Bara, Rautahat, Sarlahi, Mahottari, Dhanusha, Chitwan, Lalitpur, Kathmandu and Rupandehi. However, Mustang and Humla are the two districts that have not yet seen a single such case.
