A delegation from the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), currently on a European tour, made this request during a meeting with UN Tourism officials in Madrid, Spain.

Led by Binod Prakash Singh, Secretary at the Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation, the delegation acknowledged the UN’s past support and sought additional cooperation in artificial intelligence, digital innovation, and sustainable tourism development.

During a meeting with Harry Hwang, Director of the Regional Department for Asia and the Pacific at the United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO), Nepal’s delegation marked a historic first visit to the UN Tourism Headquarters. Hwang reaffirmed the UN’s commitment to Nepal and encouraged the country to actively participate in UN tourism initiatives and present formal proposals outlining priority areas for further support.
