A delegation from the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), currently on a European tour, made this request during a meeting with UN Tourism officials in Madrid, Spain.

During a meeting with Harry Hwang, Director of the Regional Department for Asia and the Pacific at the United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO), Nepal’s delegation marked a historic first visit to the UN Tourism Headquarters. Hwang reaffirmed the UN’s commitment to Nepal and encouraged the country to actively participate in UN tourism initiatives and present formal proposals outlining priority areas for further support.

Prior to this, the NTB organized a promotional event in partnership with the Nepali Embassy in Spain, showcasing Nepal’s diverse tourism attractions. The event, attended by tour operators, travel entrepreneurs, and media professionals, aimed to bolster tourism relations between Nepal and Spain.
