The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index witnessed a double-digit decline. On Sunday, the NEPSE index dropped by 11.49 points, settling at 2,688.31 points.
Today, a total of 158,55,610 shares from 305 companies were traded 84,280 times, amounting to a total turnover of NPR 8.39 billion.
In today’s trading session, the indices of Finance (0.80%), Manufacturing & Processing (0.15%), Microfinance (0.25%), and Trading (1.39%) showed gains, while all other sectoral indices declined.
The Development Bank sector recorded the highest decline of 1.35%, followed by the Others sector at 1.30%. The Banking sector fell by 0.35%, Hotels & Tourism by 0.24%, Hydropower by 0.50%, Investment by 0.39%, Life Insurance by 0.76%, Mutual Funds by 0.34%, and Non-Life Insurance by 0.57%.
The share prices of Central Finance Company Limited and Guardian Micro Life Insurance Limited hit the upper circuit. Meanwhile, the biggest loser was Saptakoshi Development Bank Limited, whose share price fell by 6.52%.
In terms of trading volume, NRN Infrastructure & Development Limited led with a turnover of NPR 311.68 million.
Regarding the number of shares traded, Arun Valley Hydropower Development Limited recorded the highest volume, with 476,777 shares changing hands.
