Nepal welcomed an average of 3,621 tourists every day in November.
As per the data released by the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), 108,630 tourists visited the country from November 1 to November 30. That averages to the aforementioned number of visitors per day.
Almost a fourth of them were Indians. A total of 24,443 tourists came to Nepal from its southern neighbour last Gregorian month.
Categorising the data based on regions, the NTB informed that 30.3 per cent of the tourists who arrived in Nepal in November came from the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) countries, 20.9 per cent came from Europe, 20.7 per cent came from Asia, excluding the SAARC region, 12 per cent came from the Americas, 5.1 per cent came from Oceania and 11 per cent came from other parts of the world.
Nepal had recorded 72,653 tourists in the same month in 2022. This means that this November saw 50 per cent more tourists than last year. However, the figures seen this year are still around 17 per cent less than the 1,30,302 tourists that visited the country in November 2019, the year before the COVID-19 pandemic struck.
