President of the Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (NATA), Banke Chapter, Shreeram Sigdel, announced that charter flights will operate every Saturday and Monday in response to a request from the Mithila Samaj in Nepalgunj.

The direct flights between Janakpur and Nepalgunj are expected to promote religious tourism and help connect Bageshwari Temple and Janakpur Temple in Nepalgunj with Ayodhya in India.

President Sigdel said that one-way airfare has been fixed at Rs 8,500 for the upcoming flights to be operated by Yeti Airlines, with the flight schedule set for 1:30 PM.

According to him, around Rs 3 million will be spent on the air service, which will start at the initiative of various concerned organizations. “This is just the beginning,” President Sigdel said. “The initiative will attract more tourists and revitalize Nepalgunj’s market, fostering dynamic business activities.”

Sigdel said that it is necessary to operate a Nepalgunj-Ayodhya state-of-the-art bus service along with the air route for the promotion of tourism and enhancing prosperity in Nepalgunj.
