Ncell has stated that the 15th Durbar Marg Festival 2079 is going to be organized in Durbar Marg of Kathmandu with the original slogan of ‘Promotion of Local Production and Internal Tourism’.

The festival is being jointly organized by the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, FNCCI member Restaurant and Bar Association Nepal (Reban) and Durbar Marg Development Board in collaboration with Ncell. Gorkha Brewery is the co-sponsor of the festival.

According to the company, the festival is being organized with the objective of promoting domestic tourism and supporting the tourism development of the country and promoting Nepali products, Nepali dishes and Nepali culture. The festival will be organized every year as an annual event on the occasion of the Nepali New Year.

It is said that the entire Nepali art and culture will be presented at this festival. Art and cultures of different castes reflecting the culture of the province will be presented at 10 am on April 16. The festival will be held up to Mahendra Salik in the south of Durbar Marg and up to the traffic office at the gate of Narayanhiti Museum in the north.

FNCCI President Shekhar Golchha said in his message that it would bring relief to the beleaguered tourism industry. He hopes that this event in the capital will send a big message across the country. Golchha, the chairperson of the program, explained how positive energy can flow in the economy and industry.

Speaking on the occasion, Andy Chong, Chief Executive Officer, Ncell, said, We are pleased to be able to work with the federation to assist in the revival by promoting domestic tourism, small and medium enterprises. “

Deepak Bajracharya, Samridhi Rai with Wand, Suwani Moktan, Sandeep Chhetri, classical music group Surasudha and other groups like Shrishti KC & Blind Rocks, Rushan & Lajju, Everest Crew, Mahesh Kafle, Cob Web and Vek will give their presentations in the festival. In addition, cultural dances of different castes and ethnic groups from all over the state will be performed in the streets around Durbar Marg.

As the main attraction of the program, various Nepali food items and stalls of Nepali products will be given priority during the festival and special presentation and display will also be done. There will be 60 stalls at the festival site. A separate ‘Kids Zone’ has been arranged for children in the festival area. Some of the stalls at the festival will also display handicrafts produced by entrepreneurs with different physical abilities.

Small and medium enterprises and the tourism industry are among the areas most affected by the trade-offs from the covid, which is spreading like an epidemic around the world.

FNCCI Senior Vice President Chandra Prasad Dhakal said that the problem of power cuts has created more problems for the industries and businesses which are gradually suffering from the covid crisis. He expressed the belief that the Durbar Marg Festival would go a long way in reviving the ailing economy and domestic tourism.
