Nepali students have spent nearly NPR 56.83 billion for foreign education. According to the report from Nepal Rastra Bank for the current fiscal year, while there is a decrease of NPR 2 billion compared to the same period last year, the amount spent on education abroad continues to increase.
In the previous year, NPR 58.95 billion was spent on foreign education. During the review period, the expenditure under the services account for travel increased by 9.7%, reaching NPR 101.92 billion. Last year, the travel expenditure for the same period was NPR 92.87 billion.
During the review period, the net service income stood at a deficit of NPR 43.53 billion. In the same period last year, the deficit was NPR 35.43 billion. Under the services account, travel income increased by 5.1%, reaching NPR 41.86 billion. In the same period last year, the travel income was NPR 39.82 billion.
