According to Dambar Sunuwar, director of the Department of Foreign Employment, 26 out of 125 workers preparing to fly to Israel were diagnosed with corona infection and only 99 will leave for Israel. So far, the Israeli government has signed employment agreements with 994 Nepali workers.

The department said the workers would be sent to Israel. The department has already made a final selection of 1,600 people for Israeli employment. Of which 70 percent are women. In the second phase, 162 people will fly to Israel on January 28 and 29, according to the department.

The Israeli government stipulates that workers going to Israel in the second phase must be vaccinated against COVID after August 15. Only such workers will be able to purchase air tickets and take part in the orientation program. Employers will quarantine Nepali workers for 14 days.

A labor agreement was signed between Israel and the Government of Nepal to send Nepali workers to the caregiver in July 2015. As per the agreement, a labor agreement (GTG) was signed at the government level. However, less than a year after the agreement was signed, Israeli employment was suspended.
