Israel has expressed its readiness to create more employment opportunities for Nepali laborers.
At a meeting with Minister for Labour, Employment, and Social Security Krishna Kumar Shrestha at the latter’s office, Israeli ambassador to Nepal Hanan Goder said that Israel was ready to provide jobs for the Nepalis in other professions other than as ‘care-givers’.
According to the Ministry of Labour, Employment, and Social Security, during the meeting Minister Shrestha requested Israeli envoy Goder to work towards creating work opportunities for the Nepalis in other sectors as well.
Currently, there are around 12,000 Nepalis laborers working in Israel. As per the labor pact inked between Nepal and Israel in 2020, Israel has provided work opportunities for 1,175 Nepalis workers as caregivers who are all set to fly to Israel to complete all sorts of tests and examinations.
Nepal has been requesting the Israeli government to provide caregiver jobs to the remaining 425 on the roster.
