In a series of decisions made during its Monday meeting, the Government of Nepal has approved a major soft loan for public finance management and finalized several other administrative and procedural matters.
1. Major ADB Loan for Fiscal Management
The cabinet agreed to accept a Rs 14.38 billion soft loan from the Asian Development Bank (ADB). This funding is specifically designated to support the government’s initiatives in public finance management and fiscal transfer systems, aiming to enhance efficiency and transparency.
2. Land Transfer for Provincial Hospital
A significant land transfer was approved to benefit the Ramkumar Sharad Uma Prasad Murarka Provincial Hospital in Lahan, Siraha. The cabinet decided to hand over a building and 115 bighas of land, currently under the joint ownership of Pawan Kumar Sharda and Murali Lal Murarka, to the hospital. The transaction will be subject to applicable capital gains tax.
3. Formation of Joint Task Force Delegation
To prepare for the upcoming Nepal-India Joint Agriculture Taskforce meeting in Kathmandu (December 27-29), the cabinet formed a delegation. This team will be coordinated by a joint secretary from the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development.
4. Security Personnel Appointments
Additionally, the cabinet reviewed and made decisions regarding the promotion and installment of several security officials, as part of routine administrative proceedings.
