Nepal’s prosperity is India’s interest: ABVP Secretary Ambekar

Kathmandu, April 1: A visiting India’s student council’s secretary has asserted that India wants more than ‘Roti-Beti’ (a bond of family and kinship) relation for Nepal’s peace and prosperity.

Secretary of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidhyarthi Parishad’s (ABVP) Sunil Ambekar said so at a seminar organized by Policy Research Foundation with the theme ‘Aspirations of emerging India and its foreign policy’, Nepal here on Sunday (March 31).

Ambekar reiterated that India heartily wanted Nepal to be benefited from its economic strides to achieve its goal of ‘Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali’ 

Stating that through the diplomatic measures, the people-to-people ties between Nepal and India were further flourished, the Indian leader viewed that the gigantic mountains in Nepal had provided sorts of security to India. 

Stating that the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi had adopted a policy of ‘Neighbors First’ some five years ago, he lauded Nepal’s firm endorsement to India in its fight against terrorism. 

Also speaking at the programme, Indian Ambassador to Nepal Manjeev Singh Puri opined that the recently organised Investment Summit had ensured Nepal realises its economic growth agenda through the mega hydro projects as Arun III . 

He said that India was happy with the achievements of the Summit, one among them being the agreement signed for collaboration between India’s Taj Hotels and Chaudhary Group of Nepal. 

Foundation’s Director Deepak Adhikari shared that the Foundation has been organising many seminars on the various dimensions of Nepal-India relations.
