On 14th June 2020 bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput was declared dead by committing suicide in his house according to the officials. The social media went crazy after this incident. It was declared that he was in serious depression and was not in contact with anybody from the industry.
Right after the actor’s demise, the people started supporting struggling actors, new comers and non filmy background actors. They also started boycotting underperforming star kids and criticizing nepotism that exists in bollywood. The songs and trailers of films like Sadak 2 and Khali Peeli got massive dislikes and people flared –up for the justice of the late star. There was a trend on the social media for getting justice, boycotting star kids and depression. Celebs like Karan Johar, Alia Bhatt and Ananya Pandey got trolled relentlessly to the extent that they lost millions of followers on instagram and twitter. It was Johar who received massive amount of flak from the media and his audience mainly because it was him who launched fellow actors’ and his friends’ children under his banner.
While the case was still hot, it was Kangana Ranaut who implicated that the suicide theory is bogus and the actor was in fact murdered. After that, Sushant’s fans and some media broadcasters started finding clues which pointed towards the direction of it being a pre planned murder. This turned out to become a global movement and people came together to get justice for the victim’s family. The case soon snowballed into becoming the greatest murder mystery of the industry and so many angles including drugs started getting revealed. Sushant’s ex girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty was the prime suspect for the death of the star. Later, Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) got involved and arrested Chakraborty for administering drugs to Rajput without his consent.
Now, many big names have come forward in the drugs case. Lots of celebs were questioned by the NCB in recent weeks. Rhea named Deepika Padukone, Rakul Preet Singh and Sara Ali khan in the list of high drug user. Enforcement directorate (ED) retrieved the Whatsapp chats of Chakraborty. Many leading actresses are being questioned for hours. Recently, executive producer of dharma productions Kshitij Prasad was arrested in the case and sent to judicial custody till October 6. He alleged that the NCB forced him to implicate Karan Johar and other executives of the production house but NCB denied the charge and claimed that the investigation is done in a professional manner.
No final verdict has been declared till now in both of the cases. All India institutes of medical sciences (AIIMS) hinted that Sushant committed suicide instead of being murdered in their latest report to NCB. The drug case is stretched and a huge number of actors, producers and people from the industry are being involved in it. All we can hope for is the truth to be revealed soon and Sushant Singh Rajput gets his due justice.
