Nepal Stock Exchange (Nepse) on Tuesday added 11.22 points to close at 1,858.76 points.

The secondary market opened at 1,847.54 points, and plunged to the day’s low at 1,847.52 points in the first 25 minutes of trading. The market then escalated to as high as 1,864.85 points in the next one hour. In the remaining trading period, the market lost around six points.  

The sensitive index that measures the performance of blue chip companies also gained 2.46 points. The daily turnover increased to Rs 996.58 million from Rs 938.92 million on Monday. 

Except non-life insurance, which lost 17.36 points, remaining 12 groups had their market value inclined. Life insurance gained 113.16 points, the highest of all.

Among individual companies, the market values of 144 companies increased whereas 83 companies posted lost in their indices.

Himalayan Bank Ltd Promoter Share worth Rs 91.644 million were traded and stood at the top of the transaction volume lists. Laxmi Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited gained the highest of 8.16 percent of its market price. Swabhimaan Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited lost the biggest of 8.26 percent of its market value.
