The NEPSE index declined by 11.10 points on Thursday, closing at 2,654.35 points.
The total trading volume also saw a decrease compared to the previous day. On Wednesday, shares worth Rs 9.2 billion were traded, while Thursday’s turnover dropped to Rs 7.85 billion, a reduction of Rs 1.35 billion.
On Thursday, a total of 1,51,04,033 shares of 318 securities were traded. While 86 companies recorded a rise in share prices, 150 saw a decline, and 7 companies remained unchanged.
Shares of Community Microfinance, Corporate Development Bank, and Sikles Hydropower saw a 10% increase in value. On the other hand, shares of Supermadi Hydropower and Mandakini Hydropower fell by 10%, dropping to Rs 1,247.40 and Rs 979.20, respectively.
The highest trading volume on Thursday was recorded by Saptakoshi Development Bank. Shares worth Rs 308.9 million were traded at Rs 1,500 per share, marking a 9.89% increase from the previous day.
NRN Infrastructure ranked second, with shares worth Rs 213.8 million traded at Rs 1,210 per share.
Out of the 13 sectoral indices in Thursday’s trading, only the Development Bank and Manufacturing & Processing indices showed gains. However, declines in all other sectoral indices contributed to the overall fall in NEPSE. The Finance sector performed the worst, with its index dropping by 2.43%.
