The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index has shown a decline. On Wednesday, the NEPSE index fell by 24.97 points to settle at 2,750.87.
Today, shares of 320 companies amounting to 20.33 million units were traded 96,677 times, resulting in a total turnover of NPR 9.13 billion.
The hydropower sector rose by 0.59%, manufacturing and processing by 0.14%, and microfinance by 0.12%, while all other sectors saw a decline in their sub-indices.
The trading sector experienced the highest decline of 8.72%. The banking sector decreased by 0.34%, development banks by 1.94%, finance companies by 1.24%, hotels and tourism by 0.40%, and the investment group by 0.02%.
Similarly, the life insurance sector dropped by 1.50%, mutual funds by 0.34%, non-life insurance by 0.33%, and the other sector by 0.74%.
Khanikhola Hydropower Company Limited saw the highest increase in share price today, rising by 9.99%. Meanwhile, Support Microfinance Financial Institution Limited and Life Insurance Corporation (Nepal) Limited hit negative circuit breakers.
In terms of turnover, Joshi Hydropower Development Company recorded the highest with NPR 303.69 million.
Based on the number of traded shares, Ankukhola Hydropower Company Limited topped the chart with 1.19 million shares traded.
