On the first trading day of this week, the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index saw a significant rise, but on Monday, it recorded only a slight increase. Today, the NEPSE index increased by 2.41 points, reaching 2,730 points.
Today, 317 companies traded a total of 23,770,348 shares in 111,918 transactions, amounting to a total turnover of NPR 11.87 billion.
In today’s trading, the banking sector increased by 0.54%, life insurance by 0.67%, manufacturing and processing by 0.27%, microfinance by 0.10%, mutual funds by 0.78%, non-life insurance by 0.82%, and the trading group by 0.79%.
However, all other sector indices declined. Development banks fell by 0.39%, finance by 1.07%, hotels and tourism by 0.01%, hydropower by 0.48%, and the investment group by 0.47%.
The share prices of Upakar Microfinance Financial Institution Limited and Bhugol Energy Company Limited hit a positive circuit breaker. Meanwhile, Green Development Bank and River Falls Power Limited experienced a negative circuit breaker.
In terms of transaction volume, NRN Infrastructure & Development Limited recorded the highest turnover at NPR 353 million. In terms of the number of shares traded, Barun Hydropower Company Limited led with 634,620 shares changing hands.
